Merry Christmas, everyone. If you hadn’t heard yet, it’s a boy. Now what what better way is there to celebrate the birth of that little boy in Bethlehem than with pictures of 2 little girls in Chesapeake? Not much commentary here due to the volume of pictures. Enjoy. Merry Christmas.
Now, in case you haven’t heard the story, we had to take 2 cars to church Christmas Eve since Becky had to practice with the hand bells. That gave Becky the opportunity to get home before the girls and put out all the presents. When the girls walked in, Diana exclaimed, “Oooh, presents!” Then she looked to the table and saw the cookies and followed this exclamation with, “Mmm, cookies!!” Cara, as you can see, followed suit.
Then they got down to business.
Reverse age order didn’t last very long. Cara got to open the first one, but Diana wanted to help.
After Diana started, it was difficult for her to wait to let Cara take turns. Oh well. Maybe next year.
Peef, for those of you who have never read it, is the sweetest Christmas book I think I’ve ever read. It was a favorite of Cousin Katie growing up, so she sent the book to the girls. It made Becky cry Christmas Eve night. Thankfully Scott came in for the fourth quarter save.
Santa and Peef both made a good decision. She’s slept with her new friend each night.
Cara is still a very meticulous unwrapper. She hands ever piece she tears off to either Mommy or Daddy (and even occasionally Diana) with a, “Here go.” Very cute.
Thanks Auntie Wendy. Trying to make up for having to wait so long for pierced ears when you were a little girl?
The next one’s a repeat. It hit me that Becky busted me on one of the very first pics. Who has a drink while opening presents on Christmas Eve?
…but never pass up an educational opportunity. “Diana, next time, fill the glass with this much ice before pouring Daddy’s drink.”
And now for Christmas morning.
Diana had consistently been asking for a jewelry box. When she saw Santa while picking out our Christmas tree, she immediately told him that she wanted a jewelry box for Christmas. St. Nick came through yet again.
Uh oh. Apparently he also heard the girls of the house like Angry Birds.
Well, it is a pretty nice hat.
Cara got a cute little sweater with a bear on the back. Clearly, all bears, not just Care Bears, deserve lots of hugs.
Mommy opening her gift from the girls. Diana picked out a nice snow flake pin and set of wintery earrings for her Mommy. It only took two attempts at shopping the entirety of the Greenbrier Mall and touching everything in virtually every store to settle on these winners. Next year, Daddy and the girls will do some e-shopping for Mommy.
The aftermath…
Dressing up after Christmas Day services. It’s a nice mix of play and reality clothes for girls of all ages. Note the 3 inch heels Cara is sporting.
What a mean looking creature!!
Oh wait. It’s just Cara. What a sweetie!!
What would a 2011 holiday be without…Go Pack Go!
Thanksgiving and Christmas Packer games. What could be better?
Cara after being attacked by the tickle monster.
Oh no, Diana, don’t do it. It’s too risky.
Should have listened to Daddy. Another victim falls prey to the tickle monster.
Everyone had a great Christmas this year. We hope yours was just as wonderful.
