Mommy and Daddy are so lucky to have such a beautiful little girl to watch grow, learn, and develop. Thank you, God, for the miraclulous gift of all life, but especially for this little one.
Happy birthday, Diana! We love you.

Dancing Queen, revisited
I have a new favorite TV show...The Backyardigans. Of course, the introduction song is the best part of the whole show. I rarely make it past that, and love to watch it over and over again! I've even learned the words and the dance! Check me out...

Notice anything?
Hey, Daddy. Notice anything different about me today?

New haircut?.......No, Daddy.
New clothes?.......Nope.
Are you taller?....Probably, but not what I was thinking.
Did you learn any new words?....You can't see words, Daddy.
I don't know, Diana. I give up.
What's new?

I got my toes did, just like Mommy!! Now I'm ready for a night on the town.

Avoiding Homework
I swear I haven't dropped my pack...completely. I'm not totally wasting your tax dollars. I am, however, avoiding homework by watching the TIVOed PGA Championship and going through old pictures of Diana. This one is probably 6 months old since we were still in Beaufort, but it's a pretty good one. Who's happier, Daddy or Diana?

Barker's Newest Beauty
At long last, the final rooms of furniture arrived yesterday. What better way to showcase the new rooms than with Barker's newest beauty.
Here Diana is showing us the new living room (a.k.a. Diana's playroom annex) furniture. Seeing them in the room definitely confirms Becky's decision to paint over the pink walls the owner had in the living room and dining room. I don't think the pink would have looked so hot with the red.

The new couch is soft and spacious enough for a afternoon snooze...

...or for just kicking back and relaxing with some guests.

The chairs easily support facinating, intellectual conversations...

...or a simple stare out the window. (Dad, you should really stop looking out the window yourself when taking these pictures. Focusing on the camera might make them a bit straighter. I know the house is on a hill, but this picture looks like I'm taking the chair downhill skiing. It's so hard to find good help these days.)

And did I mention just how roomy they are?

Of course, all this entertaining in the living room is going to make little girls hungry. Hey, Daddy, how about some lunch?

Finally Paying Dividends
Well it's about time!! For the last two years all we've gotten out of this child are the intangibles...cuteness, giggles, love and a few tangibles that we'd rather do without. Now that she's almost 2, however, she's finally started producing. I'll give her a couple more weeks of practice (i.e. opening weekend for football), and then I'm staying inside and will let her do all the work.

While these pictures were taken while Grandma and Auntie Wendy were here, the fun of helping Dad in the yard hasn't subsided yet. This morning, I went out to cut the front yard and left the garage door open. Becky brought Diana out a few minutes later, and it didn't take very long for Diana to find the garage. The next thing we know, Diana is pushing around her mower helping Daddy cut the lawn/sidewalk. I think the mower may be Mommy's favorite toy. It gives her a good hour of peace inside while the hired hands work outside.

Settling In
Now that I'm settling in to my new surroundings, let me tell you about all the fun features of this house. First, I've double my territorial claim in the house. There's this really cool room where I've put all my toys. I can go in there and play / make a mess all day, and Daddy won't come in and try and clean up after me.

The house also has this really nice deck where I can do one of my new favorite things...blow bubbles!! Now, I'm not sure if I enjoy the bubbles because they're bubbles or because it's one of the few words I actually can get Mommy and Daddy to understand.

Another exciting feature of the new house is that all my stuff that disappeared in March magically reappeared here. I'm so happy to have my swing set back.
The final feature I'll point out during this post is that this house came with a pool. Yeah!! I love pools.

Oh look. It also came with a ball. I love balls. Yeah!!

I wonder what happens when I combine these two things that I love so much...

Back to Work
To all my patient fans:

Fortunately for me, and Auntie Wendy, I know how to wake them up.

I have so many more interesting things to tell you all about the last few weeks while traveling to Indiana and Wisconsin and then moving to Virginia. I just have to wait for Mommy and Daddy to sort through all the pictures.
Take care. See you again soon.
Diana
Mommy and Daddy are finally getting settled into our new home in Virginia. That means that they can get back to posting wonderful pictures of me. It's been an exciting few weeks as we made the trek from South Carolina to Virginia and moved in to the new house. I had so much fun because a lot of people came to visit. They may have come to help Mommy and Daddy get settled, but I know how make those big people do exactly what I want them to do. The trick is to just grab one of them by the finger and lead them to whatever it is I want to do. Forget unpacking. Let's play.
And what a good time we had playing! I had so many stories read to me that I started wearing the big people out.
