Hey, if she's interested...someone's gotta do it!

As I was dust mopping the floor today, Diana took a great interest in what I was doing. She already loves to "vacuum," so I thought, "Why not?" I took the middle part out of the Swiffer and let her have at it! Of course, I was out of the actual Swiffer cloths, so I had to make do...she's already a BIG fan! It's never too early to teach her how to keep house!

Wisdom from country music...

There is a country song with the lyrics "Crayons go up one drawer higher..." This song is about the lessons that a dad learns when he has to stay home with his children while his wife goes to work. However, today Mom was made aware of the true meaning of those words...

Christmas Decorating

Decorating for Christmas has already posed a challenge for me this year. We elected not to put up a tree, since the majority of my day would then be spent keeping a certain 15 mo. old off of the tree. However, she has now graduated into felonies and has kidnapped the baby Jesus instead...only one baby allowed in this household!

Playdate with Kyra!

Hello sportsfans! I had such a fun day yesterday! My friend Kyra came over to play! She and I have so much fun together! I'm teaching her how to walk, and she's teaching me how to talk!

What a great story Kyra! Thanks for reading!

Can I have a bite too? Ahhhhh!

Check out my remote!

Let's see what else is in here...

Hold on a minute...Elmo's on TV.

Time for some juice!

Wait a minute...I like your cup better! Sharing is fun!

On second thought, I'll just take them both. Mommy says that I'm being a bully and just because I can move faster doesn't mean I can steal things from Kyra. She took both cups away and hid them in the kitchen after this incident. Mean Mommy. Daddy says sharing is for Commies.

Now that the juice situation has been resolved it's time to play again!

Mommy discovered how difficult it is to have two one-year-olds look at you at the same time. This was the best she could do...

Lots of love for Kyra! I had so much fun playing! I hope she comes over again soon! She's loads more fun than boring Mommy.

What Daddy doesn't realize...

...is that those last pictures were taken after a heart-stopping moment for Mommy where she realized that Diana had figured out how to climb onto the couch. By herself. Whenever she feels like it. OH! And if that weren't enough...she also is just tall enough to open any door in our house. By herself. Whenever she feels like it.

Happier First Photo

Per Diana's fan club special request, we've added happier photos up front so the first thing we all see isn't a sad, sick little miss.

Getting better

Hello, everyone. While I'm still not all the way better, I'm definitely feeling better than I did Sunday morning.

As you can see, I looked (and felt) rather pathetic Sunday. But Mommy and Daddy took good care of me and let me take lots of naps during the football games.

Now, I'm feeling a lot better.
Thanks to all for your concern and warm get well wishes.

I should have known...

...when we got home from the USMC Birthday Ball last night and our babysitter said that Diana started falling asleep on the couch around 6:30 and went straight to bed, that something had to be amiss. My suspicions were confirmed at 2 a.m. when Diana woke up for the second time and had a fever of 102. And again at 3...and 3:30...and 4...and 5...finally, at 5:30, Scott went to sleep on the floor of her room and she then slept until 7:30. However, she's been sleeping on and off all day...and so have her mommy and daddy! We're trying to stay ahead of the fever with regular doses of Tylenol, however rest is probably best...

See all my tricks!

So let me tell you...I feel like I'm a puppy sometimes. My mommy and daddy keep asking me silly questions and then clap like idiots when I understand what they're asking. I have to admit though, I'm pretty darn cute.

Happy Halloween / Reformation Day

Happy Halloween / Reformation Day, everyone. Since this is one of those unique double celebration days, I figured it was only fitting to give you all two doses of my cuteness today. Below are some pictures of me dressed up in my outfit Daddy bought for me in China.

Somebody needs to make a doll out of me.

I could sell millions, make huge profits, and lose them all to Obama's wealth redistribution plans (aka - socialism).

I'm even cute from behind.

These next two are just for you, Auntie Wendy. And look, no help from Daddy.

Thanks for the cute outfit, Daddy. I love you, even if I do prefer that lady behind the camera when given the choice. And remember, Daddy, you picked her as your favorite lady before I picked her as my favorite lady, so you only have yourself to blame for starting this trend.

Startin' her early

To all the loyal readers of the blog, you will remember several times in the past when Diana has stumbled upon our various addictions...I refer you to January 2008 and July 2008 as examples. However, today Diana discovered our TRUE addiction...

She shows all the signs of an addict: yelling, kicking and screaming when her drug of choice is taken away...

In the end, however, juice makes everything better.

Diana in motion

I always wanted to take ballet class, but was too "weight challenged"...so Diana is starting early.

Our little Cubbies fan took the Cubs' quick exit from the playoffs about as well as her daddy did...

Roll film.

If she can't do better next time, I'm gonna have to fire her...

She'll have to do better once Daddy makes good on that pony promise...

Colts - Packers Round 3

That's right, folks. It's that time of the decade. Every 4 years, the Packers and the Ponies meet up for a little inter-conference showdown. Since Becky and I started dating, our teams have split their only 2 meetings, each winning at home. Today is the rubber match for this decade. Everyone but Mike Ditka on ESPN's pregame is siding with the Ponies. With that being the case, I decided to let Diana root for the Packers. Actually, if she roots for the Colts, they tend to lose, so Daddy is encouraging her first words to be, "Go Pack Go!!"

Now, let's go Colts!!

Going to Church

Miss Diana looked rather adorable this morning for church. We just wanted to share her cuteness with all of you.

Redneck wagon...

When Grandma was here for Diana's birthday, she invented a "wagon" to pull Diana around the house in. Diana loves to be pulled and to pull her life-size stuffed Elmo all around the house. However, she has now discovered how to get in and out of the box all by herself. This independence comes with risks, though...

Mommy! Stop laughing and help me!

Just kidding. It's not that bad.

This is much better though.

We have also discovered a new use for our "wagon" that Mommy is not too happy about. Diana discovered that if you turn it upside-down, it makes for a wonderful step-stool to reach all sorts of new and interesting things, like the dining room table. I was about 3 seconds late in photographing that this morning...fortunately, she is learning to step down, so we didn't tumble to the ground.

That's Scott's daughter...

When I (Becky) got home from VB practice, Daddy had such a story for me! "After running my 19.2 mile run this morning, I was tired! I'm lying on the floor, legs on the couch, playing with my daughter. Diana then decided that it was time to climb up on the couch. Instead of taking the easy route of climbing onto Daddy, and then onto the couch, she stood flat on the floor, raised her right leg onto the couch, grabbed Daddy's legs and chicken-winged herself onto the couch. I was so proud, I let her play with the remote for like 10 minutes!"

Back to the Buggler

Now that Daddy is finished yapping about the far east, it's time to get back to the truly important stuff...ME!!

So where do I begin? Well, let's start with some words of advice for Mommy and Daddy. Don't ask how or why. Just be amazed and take some more cute photos.

I love my new swing set. While Mommy and Daddy were assembling the last few pieces after the last of the hardware arrived, I discovered that the grass wasn't nearly as bad as I previously thought. While I used to just stand in the grass and not move at all, I have now mastered this whole walking on grass thing, and I love it. It's still more challenging than walking on a hard flat surface, but I'm getting the hang of it.

And finally, while I haven't learned how to talk yet, I am getting very good at letting my Mommy and Daddy know exactly what I'm thinking. For instance, if I bring this bag of baby animal crackers over to Mommy or Daddy and look really cute like this, I bet they'll give me one. Yum.

Also, if I show them how tough I am, even while sleeping, perhaps they'll let me play this weekend and help the Packers win. "Put me in, coach. I'm ready to play."

Bye everybody. I'll be back soon.
