What a great weekend we’ve had in Chesapeake. Scott came home from a week in Germany Friday night, and thank goodness. We couldn’t have him missing all the cuteness that his girls presented on Saturday for everyone. It started with Diana’s ballet recital Saturday morning. She did a great job performing her dance to “My Favorite Things” from The Sound of Music.
The dancing was adorable, but Mommy and Daddy’s favorite thing was clearly this little dancer.
Strike a pose Diana…beautiful.
While we’re waiting for the videos to load, here is a quick snapshot of the finishing pose.
After the show, our little angel was truly beaming.
Mommy and Daddy were very proud.
Of course, the wee one refused to be outdone. As soon as we got home and Diana’s dress came off, Cara put on a show of her own. All throughout the recital, she danced in her seat and in front of our chairs, watching the big kids and waiting for her moment to get called up on stage. We’ll just have to wait a few more years to get the chance and enjoy her living room performances until then.
After the initial living room performance, the true creativity was unleashed.
Well, we’ll try to keep Cara interested in dance, not fashion. We’re not quite sure what look she’s going for here.
Sunday, of course, brought Father’s Day. The girls were very excited to share their cards with Daddy after church. Cara got Daddy a card with, what else, a bear on it.
Diana’s was from “Daddy’s Princess.” As Daddy read the card out loud, Cara came running back over yelling, “I a princess, too, I a princess, too.”
Yes, you are Care Bear.
The girls got Daddy two wonderful gifts for him to take to his office. The first is a candy jar to put on his desk with their hand prints on the side.
Diana gave a summary of her Daddy in her own words. Here are some of the answers to the questions about her daddy:
My Daddy’s name is Scott. (Good job, D. Got that one right.)
He is 83 feet and 11 inches tall. (Close. Very close)
He weighs 83 pounds. (Apparently the number of the day on Sesame Street today was 83.)
His hair color is blacky-ish. (Well, at least we know Mommy wasn’t coaching. This definitely would have said gray if she did.)
He likes to go to Germany. (This is either really sad or simply a product of the fact that I was in Germany.)
His favorite drink is Scotch. (That was a gimme.)
Well, she sure knows her Daddy. Well, at least the important stuff.
And, of course, the beautiful woman who made this day possible. Thanks for making me the proud Daddy for two beautiful little girls.
