It snowed 2 1/2 inches in Stafford, Virginia, so (insert laugh here if you live in the upper Midwest or Northeast) we got a snow day. Our transplanted northern family was very excited to get out and enjoy the snow. Below are a lot of the pictures with just a few captions where necessary. Enjoy. (Someday soon we'll get around to updating the blog for all the time between Reformation Day and New Year's.)
Diana is in the purple jacket with pink pants. Cara is in the pink jacket with black pants.
Cara had a little bit of trouble getting up the steep hill at times.
She had no problems getting down, however.
Daddy finally got a chance to try out the new sled. Works pretty well. Wish we had a little bit more snow, though.
Clearly no one is having any fun.
Uh oh, someone got tired of just taking pictures.
Hang on, rookie, you're going the wrong way.
Thank goodness we missed those trees. Hopefully we won't hit that soccer goal.
Whew. Made it.
So if you look closely right behind Becky's head in the picture below, you will see the cause of her wonderful facial expression. Apparently the path on the right has a significant bump near the bottom. Fun for kids, not so much fun for Mommies.
Daddy's turn.
He seemed to like it a little bit more than Becky...or he knew the camera was watching.
The second round gave him a bit more excitement...
Hang on, Scottie B...hang on...
Alright, enough fun for one morning. Time to go warm up a bit.
Thanks for the new boots, Grandma and Bobo. Perfect fit and toasty warm.
Happy Snow Day 2014!!
